Paper Voice was developed from the intention of creating something that was nonfiction and fiction at the same time. It became an introspective look at the memories I have of what I thought were the formative moments throughout my life that I couldn’t control, but shaped me as a person, as well as my response to those moments. The project was formed out of a need to focus on the part of myself that feels the most important, my writing. It was my strongest skill and I wanted to be able to use it to its full capacity, but how does one illustrate a story that can’t exactly be explained so easily? Through the work that has influenced and already created the story in it’s own time. Spring 2020

Relationships come in different shapes and sizes, and we find comfort in the bonds we make with people over time. But when we have to spend time alone, and tucked away into a distant corner where do our minds go? Where do we go? What do we do? What we do by ourselves can rival what we do in the presence of another person. And sometimes these things aren’t that much different. Especially if what we do is done in relative silence. Fall 2018
